CBS Radio Names Fitzsimmons Director of Music Initiatives
CBS Radio has named Chad Fitzsimmons as the director of music initiatives.
According to a release, the newly-created position will require working with the company’s radio and TV stations and its digital assets to develop and launch partnership opportunities for record labels to promote artists to millions of fans nationwide. Fitzsimmons will also create experiences to enable listeners to engage with artists.
Based in Los Angeles, Fitzsimmons will report to Greg Strassell, senior vice president of programming, CBS Radio, while working with the senior programming leadership team and Helen Leisengang, vice president, integrated marketing and special events.
Fitzsimmons began his career in radio in 1999 as a promotion assistant at WKQX(FM) in Chicago. He went on to work at WNKS(FM), WEND(FM) and WKQC(FM) in Charlotte, N.C. In 2005, he moved to Los Angeles and took on the role of marketing director for KCBS(FM), which he helped transition from a classic hits station to a Jack FM format.
When CBS Radio debuted “97.1 AMP” — KAMP(FM) — in Los Angeles, Fitzsimmons was named marketing director for that station as well. Most recently he was director of integrated marketing for Los Angeles’ KAMP, KCBS and KROQ(FM).
