Abacast: Clarity in the Cloud
|
Radio service
provider Abacast announced the availability of a cloud-based version of its Clarity Digital Radio System, a
suite of streaming management tools.
Abacast CEO Rob
Green said that the cloud-based version will provide customers “with the key
benefits of cloud computing including reduced costs, easy and fast deployment.”
They will not have to deploy any servers and will get automatic updates.
He added that
Abacast moved to the cloud with the latest Clarity release “primarily
to free up our product development resources to focus on product
functionality that adds value.” Green stated: “With the cloud, our product team
doesn’t have to think about building infrastructure to support fault-tolerance,
auto-scaling, disaster recovery features, or monitoring, these services come
‘built-in’ to cloud services.”
According to Green
the result is that radio customers can use a browser and Internet connection to
create ad campaigns, traffic ads, forecast inventory and produce advertiser
affidavit reports. “With the cloud, they can easily do this from virtually
anywhere and with a variety of devices besides a PC, a tablet for
example.”
