New old-fashioned headsets are not brought out often, so Audio-Technica's BPHS1, recently introduced, is something to take note of at the NAB Show.

The BPHS1 is a stereo design with padded circumaural ear cups for isolation. A boom-mounted moving coil dynamic microphone can be moved to either side of the mouth.

The headphone section uses 40 mm neodymium drivers. Performance of the headphones is expected to be 20 Hz–20 kHz. The ear pads are replaceable.

A user-replaceable 11-foot cable has a 1/4-inch connector for headphone input and XLRM connector for microphone output. Three microphone windscreens are included.
