BW Kit Gets Community Station on Air

Xchange Perspectives has brought a local radio station on air in Magwi, a town devastated by 25 years of civil war in South Sudan.
The Youth Radio Magwi project seeks to promote peace and to provide valuable information to the region, as well as to train local youth in media, production and radio journalism.
Using a BW Broadcast TX1000 and two Label AKG1N antennas on a 43-meter mast, the station signal reaches listeners up to 125 kilometers distant.
To promote Youth Radio Magwi, Xchange Perspectives has produced a short film showing the different phases of the training, set up and operation of the station and the video has been entered into an online film contest at Link TV.
