Specifics for the 2010 Catholic Radio Conference have been set. Scheduled for Oct. 13–16 at the Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham, Ala., the conference aims to examine all aspects of radio — management, business and operations.

Keynote speakers will include former Congressman Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.), along with his wife, Callista Gingrich, who heads up Gingrich Productions, an audio, video and photographic production company. There will be a screening of their film, “Nine Days That Changed the World: Pope John Paul II,” and the Bishop of Birmingham, Rev. Robert Baker, will also speak at the conference.

New this year is a Catholic Radio101 Boot Camp.

The Radio Expo will include equipment vendor exhibits and technical sessions. There will be an FCC Q&A while other sessions will examine practices such as acquiring a station, fundraising and developing a sustainable nonprofit organizational structure.

The conference is taking place in cooperation with the Catholic Radio Association and the EWTN television and radio network (based in nearby Irondale). Tours of the EWTN radio and television facilities are scheduled. Early bird discount registration is available.
