Dhaka FM is the first FM station airing HD Radio in Bangladesh.

Manufacturer Broadcast Electronics said the station is using an FM 10S transmitter on 90.4 MHz. “The event marks the first commercial HD Radio station in Bangladesh as part of the country’s phase II of FM commercialization authorizing new FM broadcast licenses there,” BE stated. “Present for the inaugural event were noted dignitaries from information and telecommunications branches of the Bangladesh government.”

BE and local rep Onair Solutions Ltd provided RF and studio turnkey services. The package included FXi 250 exciters and XPi 10esp HD Radio signal generator, backup STX LP 5 kW transmitter and The Radio Experience message management system for RDS text and HD Radio datacasting. A BE AudioVault FleX automation system went into operation earlier, supporting the statino’s Internet offerings.
