The FCC has established a help line for TV stations that have questions regarding the commission’s new online interface for television public inspection files.

That number is (877) 480-3201 or option 2, (717) 338-2888. The hotline is staffed Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern.

The commission has two links to the public inspection file, one for the public, and another for TV stations. There’s also a Frequently Asked Questions tab on the pages for more information.

Broadcasters are also encouraged to submit help requests and report any errors or problems with the online sites at: esupport.fcc.gov/request.htm.

Affiliates of the top four television networks in the top 50 Nielsen DMAs were to begin uploading new files for their public inspection file to the FCC-hosted interface beginning Aug. 2.

The commission has been testing the interface with television stations and the agency says work will continue, including development of a public search feature and permitting access to the interface through Dropbox and other similar file-sharing products.
