KYW Becomes a Landmark of a Different Sort

KYW is already a landmark in
Philadelphia broadcasting, but now CBS has hoisted a sign with those call letters on top of
the downtown Market Street building that houses the studios of the station.
To make things even better, the sign lights up at night — and with the iconic CBS eye. KYW is also the call sign for a CBS television station in the market.
A release says that the sign, approximately 150 feet up, faces
to the east and is visible along I-95 and across the Delaware River in Camden,
N.J.
It took five years of effort to get the sign approved. The station said in the announcement that KYW is “now the only radio station in Philadelphia County to be granted this right.”
