Merging Technologies, a Switzerland-based developer of proprietary digital audio workstations, has announced the sale of approximately 20 of the company’s Pyramix system to Chongqing Broadcasting Group in China.

Merging Asia, a distributor in China, is handling the deal.

The purchase facilitates the moving of eight radio stations to a new facility. The workstations will be used in on-air, production and back-up roles.

According to a release announcing the sale, Chongqing will be using the DAWs in a tapeless and uncompressed broadcast environment. The Merging units were also chosen for their compatibility with Dayang storage network systems, which are popular in China.
