The National Association of Broadcasters Educational Foundation, working with the McCormick Foundation, has initiated a program for encouraging college-level communications students to create public service campaigns.

The best campaigns will earn donations and scholarships.

Ideally, students (individual or team) will partner with a broadcast station, radio or TV, for their campaign; however a broadcaster commitment is not necessary for the initial proposal to NABEF.

Proposal deadline is Feb. 12. From the proposal group up to 20 entries will be selected for the final competition.

Winners will be named at the 2010 NABEF Celebration of Service to America Awards, June 14 in Washington. First prize is a $10,000 scholarship and matching donation to the public service campaign charity. Second place is a $5,000 scholarship and a $5,000 while third place is $2,000 for both.

First and second place winners will have their travel to the awards event paid for.
