New Avionics Enhances Ice Sensor

So your old ice sensor keeps icing over at the tower site and you don’t want to go out into the weather to clean it off … What to do?

Replace it with an ice sensor that de-frosts itself, like the New Avionics Ice*Meister Model 9734-HTR.

The Ice*Meister 9734-HTR uses radiant panels near the optical ice sensor to radiate heat to keep the probe active rather than letting it become useless from ice build-up.

The aluminum panels do not warm more than 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit). An energy-saving setting can be used for light duty.

The Ice*Meister can also be used for rain detection.
