No NAB This Year for Top Clear Channel Radio Engineers

Clear Channel’s corporate radio engineering team will not attend the NAB Show this spring.

Executive Vice President of Distribution Development Jeff Littlejohn tells Radio World that it was his decision, made for cost reasons because Clear Channel company revenue in the first quarter has not met expectations.

“It’s a short-term reaction to what we hope to be a short-term problem,” he said. Asked how many engineers are affected, Littlejohn said the number that have attended in past years has ranged from roughly 20 to 60.

The decision affects corporate engineering managers. Individual CC station engineers are not directly affected, though the cost-cutting emphasis at Clear Channel is likely to limit their attendance.

The NAB Show is in Las Vegas in mid-April.
