Internet music service Rdio announced a redesign of its Android app. The app handles Android smartphones and Android tablet computers.

According to the company, the GUI has been changed to improve navigation. New features include “New Releases,” “Top Charts” and “Recommendations” tabs for greater user information.

Also said to be in the new version are an enhanced search function, better synchronization and improved interfacing with “user profiles.”

Rdio offers a limited free plan along with several premium plans on different platforms. Platforms served include Windows and Mac computers; iPad, Android and Kindle Fire devices; iPhone, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7 smartphones and Sonos and Roku entertainment devices.
