It might not drink champagne or dance under electric candlelight, but Digigram's LoLa has some other nice things to offer.
A family of PCI Express cards, LoLa — for LOw, LAtency — is aimed at the broadcast logging market, among planned applications.
First available is the LoLa280, a low-profile, full-length card with eight line-level inputs and two line-level outputs. An eight-channel rack-mounted outboard mic preamp box is optional. An onboard software mix controls the unit. Onboard converters are high-def 24-bit, 192 kHz.
The LoLa280 is compatible with Digigram's Visiblu broadcast IP technology. WDM DirectSound and ASIO drivers are provided.
Philippe Delacroix, president and CEO, said of the LoLa: "Legal, surveillance and broadcast logging applications have never had an audio platform designed specifically for their requirements until now." He said companies whose business is monitoring, archiving or security are among target users.
